Fake Netflix Emails
As ever, I am grateful to regular website visitor, John from Blacon, who has provided us with this very useful scam alert. This time it is about fake Netflix emails. Where, or when, do these scams stop? If ever. Maybe a naive statement by me there because in so many cases scammers are quite so far ahead of the authorities. Once one scam is identified and shut down, another one pops up.
The emails from long lost ‘related’ Princes you’ve never heard of from far off places seem such a long time ago now, but still they appear in your email account. Albeit, in your spam folder but nevertheless the originators still perceive that there is potential in these blanket emails.
Or, maybe they are real? Maybe I am due $9,000,000 because some diligent bank worker found my email address and felt sorry for me. Real? Yea, right!!!
BREAKING NEWS…….
Hang on a mo, I’ve got an email coming through. Bear with me…….
YAY!!!!!……I’m rich!!! Who would have thought I could be so lucky (good effort by the way Kylie at the Hyde Park concert last week….you little minx!!!). I’ve actually won $850,000.00 by winning a lottery payout from a lottery I never even entered!!
Wow how cool is that!!!
If you don’t believe me, take a look below……
Lottery Win
Official Notification”
Seriously though, these lottery email scams have also been knocking about for years. And yet they still persist. So, somebody must fall for them.
I know (hope) that anyone receiving such an email knows that is a scam. But just in case there is an outside chance there are some people who may believe these messages, the harsh reality is….you haven’t won. There is no way you could win a lottery you have no knowledge of entering.
Anyway, back on point – John’s email about fake Netflix emails. Thanks again John. Much appreciated.
Fake Netflix Emails
Here’s the article…..
“Watch out for these fake Netflix emails. We’ve seen an increase in reports about fake Netflix emails claiming that there’s an issue with your account, or that your account has been suspended. The email states that you need to “update” your account details in order to resolve the problem.
The link in the emails leads to genuine-looking Netflix phishing websites designed to steal your username and password, as well as payment details. Always question unsolicited requests for your personal or financial information in case it’s a scam. Never automatically click on a link in an unexpected email or text. No doubt John will provide us with more scam alerts as he comes across them.
