Some Upcoming Events

As we seem to be heading back to some sort of normality, let me give a quick mention of some upcoming events. These will not be exhaustive. They are ones that have been brought to my attention, or I have noticed myself. The first one to mention is one that has been brought to my attention by regular website visitor, John from Blacon.

And that is the Chester Cocktail Week. This, no doubt popular event, is taking place between 20th September and 26th September. Here’s a few snippets as to what it’s about:

There are quite a few cocktail bars in Chester. This was very evident to me as I wandered down Watergate Street in the sun on Sunday just gone. We have cocktail bars in places other than Watergate Street of course. And this cocktail scene can be experienced during a week long series of events and special offers that are being hosted in a variety of venues across the city centre. Here’s what to expect:

• £5 Cocktails – all day, every day for the whole week.
• Ticketed Masterclasses, Tastings & Experiences
• Hub at Chester Market

Some Upcoming Events – Chester Zoo

I’ve said this loads of times haven’t I. You can’t keep our world famous Chester Zoo out of the news for long can you. And, in typical fashion, our stunning local attraction is at the heart of some upcoming events happening in the near future. Have a look at what’s going on at Chester Zoo.

The first thing to mention is:

Wildlife Connections Festival 2021

Here you can get stuck into a wide range of FREE hands-on activities. Actual activities that will amaze and inspire the whole family. Whatever age! You can join in by attending lots of creative workshops including willow weaving, den building and make-and-take activities. And that’s not all. There is an interactive show with CBBC star Naomi Wilkinson. For more details of how to get closer to nature, have a look HERE.

Nature Recovery Corridor

Chester Zoo recently announced that they had been awarded a grant from the government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund to create a Nature Recovery Corridor here in Cheshire. Like most things related to Chester Zoo, there is a big vision behind this exciting new project. And that is to restore a wildlife-rich habitat and help the recovery of declining species. Yet another great project Chester Zoo are involved with. For more details of this fantastic project, have a look HERE.

Some Upcoming Events – Hedgehog Watch

How would you like to take part in an exciting Citizen Science project? A well worthwhile project, a project to help protect local wildlife. Hedgehogs to be more specific. Hedgehogs are one of the UK’s most-loved species but, sadly, they face countless threats. And it is these threats that are causing a rapid decline in hedgehog populations. However, together we can all help to protect hedgehogs and other UK wildlife. If you would like to get involved, then have a look HERE.

Also, well worth looking out for is the music festival being held at the Chester Zoo Nature Reserve on 18th and 19th September. You can find more details of this, including who is on and when HERE. Scroll down to about halfway down the page.
