Has Spring Finally Sprung?
Whisper it oh so quietly and carefully. But…..dare I really ask the question. Has it really happened? Oh what the hell, I’ll ask the question anyhow. Has spring finally sprung? I’m a bit cautious about getting too excited though. For good reason I might add. A while back – on the 17th February I did post this “Finally Some Decent Weather” post HERE. Look how that turned out!! Snow, rain, snow, snow, rain.rain, rain and more rain.
So, whisper it carefully….has spring finally sprung? Let’s be bold and optimistic and say that is has. What does iyt mean? What can we do? Where can we go?
Has Spring Finally Sprung?
If it has you might like to take a look at some of my previous posts. For instance there is the “Places To Visit” page to have a shufty at…..HERE. Loads of suggestions on that page.
Or, you might like to check out a recent blog post about taking a trip down to The Groves. Well worth a trip. You can find out more HERE. I spoke to Phil from local band JakLash Cat a few days ago and he mentioned that in all likelihood they will be playing down by Chester river again this Sunday. So, if the weather is still OK (he said with all digits crossed), you may wish to pack a lunch and stroll down to the river. I’m sure you will like the band.
We’re aiming to be down there ourselves. A sarnie or two, an ice-cream and a couple of snifters on the way home. Sounds like a plan to me. But, where to go for a couple of snifters though? As we will be down that end of town I do really like the Cross Keys at the moment. Cracking pub with excellent beer. Gets my vote!!
Smell Of Freshly Cut Grass
I don’t know about you but I always associate the smell of freshly cut grass as a sign that spring has finally sprung. I haven’t caught a waft yet this year. Have you? Whatever signs you look out for to answer the question ‘has spring finally sprung’ – I hope you encounter them soon. After all we’ve had a rather long and bleak winter haven’t we.
If, by any chance, we are to be returned to horrible wintery weather next week, don’t blame me. I’ve quit singing in the shower so that rainy day trigger has been eliminated.
Whatever you plan to do this weekend while the weather is OK, I hope you enjoy doing it. Hopefully many more ‘good weather’ to come. Take care folks. Speak soon!!
