Coronavirus Mythbusters
Thanks again to our ultra vigilant, regular website visitor, John from Blacon. As you may already know, John provides us with many of the Chester Crimewatch posts. His safety and security articles are invaluable. In this particular instance, John has again been busy finding us some more useful Coronavirus articles to consider. This one is focusing on Coronavirus Mythbusters.
There is so much news knocking about on the current situation regarding this dreadful, deadly virus.
In some respects there is too much news if that makes sense. Yes, we need to be updated and yes, the latest news is vital. But I think there is a danger that if we spend all day rooted to our TV screens, or the radio, there can be so much news that we could freak ourselves out. An overload of information – or to be more accurate, opinion – can put our minds in a spin. So much so that, if not careful, we can get so bogged down with it all in a negative sense that we start to encounter other health issues. Like depression for example.
Now, I’m no doctor and there is no way I am trying to impart any advice. Each to their own of course. If people wish to immerse themselves with every news bulletin then that, of course, is entirely up to them.
From my own point of view I try to limit myself to only a few updates each day.
Coronavirus Mythbusters
And of course, along with all the information overload and opinion, comes the possibility of myths. Not only myths, but conspiracy theories also. There are plenty of those knocking about as well. If you really wanted to, you could Google “coronavirus conspiracy theories” and you would find plenty.
Coronavirus conspiracy theories isn’t what this article is about though. Nope. John has sent me information about Coronavirus Mythbusters.
More specifically, here’s what John posted in a local forum:
“A number of people are confused by some news stories doing the rounds based on Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). A number of these stories often contain worthless and meaningless information which turns out to be no more than a myth.
These Coronavirus myths are soon posted on various social media outlets and do no more than cause confused and uncertain beliefs among those reading them as they rapidly circulate around the globe. In order to combat these myths the WHO (World Health Organization) has provided useful information on their website:
And here’s the link to the WHO (World Health Organization) information.

Thanks again John. So very much appreciated. This will be one of the news bulletins I will read today. Have a read yourselves and take on board whatever you feel is relevant or worthy of noting.
Stay safe folks.
