Continuing my “out and about” experiences of local businesses, a worthy shout out to Computer Buddies in Hoole. A local, independent IT Support and computer repair service in Charles Street. As with previous shout outs, I like to give a mention to any local businesses that I have experienced and have provided a good service. In the bigger scheme of things that might not add up to very much, but I’m a believer in spreading the good word where you can. The more the merrier and all that. You never know, there may be someone out looking for the kind of quality, reliable services Computer Buddies offer. And they may stumble on this website. If that is the case, and you’re in need of some computer support and assistance then read on.
Computer Buddies Hoole
Probably like so many others, I’m a bit lost when it comes to teccy stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a complete dinosaur, but nowhere near being an expert. And sometimes we need a teccy expert or guru. In my own situation, and in quite simple non-teccy terms, my laptop wouldn’t turn on. It was completely dead. I couldn’t get it started no matter what I tried given my, not so excessive, teccy knowledge. So, I took it Computer Buddies. Could they get it going? The short answer is yes they could. So, all good in that respect. How did they get it going? This is where my teccy knowledge wanes. The important thing to know is that they did get it going again and it is a key, vital reason that local, independent businesses like Computer Buddies are so invaluable to local communities and beyond.
Computer Buddies Go The Extra Mile
In my latest visit, as in previous visits, I made it known that I really need a new laptop. It’s been on my “to do” list for some time. On my two visits this week, without any prompting, firstly Jacob then Ben, suggested that “I take a look at this” on their own computer screen on the other side of the counter. As I said earlier, I’m not a teccy guru and even though quite a bit of the jargon is familiar to me, I am quite apprehensive in searching out the best suitable option for my requirements. However, based on a few question from Ben and Jacob asking me about my typical laptop usage, I was shown links to various laptop selling websites for what they perceived as the best fit for my needs.
It’s fair to say that the recommendations were related to the type of machine that best fit. They weren’t vendor recommendations. It’s important that you do your own vendor research. For instance, check out reviews and recommendations. Such as this one. As a result of one of the machine recommendations, I happened to pop along to Currys on the Greyhound Park. I could write a whole article on my Curry’s experience and my dealings with their not so helpful “sales” staff. But this post is not the place for that. Suffice it to say, the experience was enlightening and a tad comical in a way. But anyway, I digress.
Maybe one positive to come out of my trip to the Greyhound Park was that it will probably be my last visit to their store. So, all good in that respect. Also, another thing I do know. When I do acquire my new laptop, I will take it to Computer Buddies for any maintenance or repairs. It’s just a shame they don’t sell machines, there would be no need to go anywhere else for all computer products and services.
