Things To Do In Chester This Easter
Tis the season to be jolly……tra….la…la….la…oops, wrong holiday. No, now that spring has sprung we have Easter to look forward to. I must say, I do like Easter. And no, I’m not talking about stuffing my face with copious amounts of chocolate. Although that is a nice option. You don’t get an Adonis-esque body like mine by stuffing your face with chocolate. What’s that sound I hear……..oh, a lot of coughing, sniggering and spluttering!! No, Easter is a time to get out and about. So, what exactly? What are some of the things to do in Chester this Easter?
Things To Do In Chester This Easter
No doubt there are plenty of Easter specific events going on but let’s first take a look at what events, or places we can visit at any time during the year. Yes, of course there are things to do in Chester at Easter, but we shouldn’t forget that we can put these on our “to do” lists of things to do in Chester at any time of the year.
First off, I have already mentioned many places that you could visit. Have a look at my page HERE of places to visit in Chester. There are some great options mentioned on that page. And, to stress again, they are available all year round.
And……have you noticed…..not one single pub mentioned!!! How cool is that.
What Else Is There To Do?
In addition to the places to visit mentioned in the link above, a few other places are worth a mention.
A few weeks ago I was having a cup of tea (again, more coughing, sniggering and spluttering) in one of my local pubs. The fella I was talking to was telling me of a great night he had at a very unique, exciting and enjoyable venue. He said he and his pals had a night to remember as it was so different and interesting. Where did he go?
Breakout – Can You Make It Out?
He went to Breakout. What is Breakout some of you may be asking? In short, Breakout is a live escape game based in Chester. You are locked in a room with family, friends or coworkers, for 60 minutes, and have to solve a series of puzzles and clues to escape.
Searching high and low and working together is very important if you want to escape… Suitable for teams of 2-5 people. Book online at https://breakoutchester.com or call 01244638061.
How cool is that!! And, you can pop along at any time during the year. But also, it is worth considering as one of the things to do in Chester this Easter.
Regular readers will know I am a fan of Chester Zoo. And I know I have posted quite a lot of articles about things going on there. But to be fair, you can’t really keep the Zoo out of the picture for very long can you?
Chester Zoo – Always Plenty Of Things To Do
Of course not. So, on that note. There is a new special showpiece to grab your attention. It is “The Tale Of Madagascar”
This Easter, Chester Zoo are bringing the wonderful island of Madagascar to you, the visitors! You can discover amazing animals in Chester Zoo’s new immersive space, including a walkthrough habitat which will bring you closer to our groups of ring-tailed lemurs and red ruffed lemurs.
A trip to Chester Zoo is always well worth a trip. But if you are looking for things to do in Chester this Easter then why not join the Zoo and celebrate this amazing habitat and the wildlife found there. You will find that there is also a playful programme of activities including storytelling, dance, music, art and even a parade!
Oh, and on the subject of lemurs, we have more babies to announce at Chester Zoo. While visiting the “Tale of Madagascar” don’t miss the absolutely adorable new arrivals in the NEW Madagascar lemur walkthrough habitat.
You will be amazed and you will just love watching these little lemurs leaping around, climbing and playing, and snuggling up to their Mothers.
Just have a look at these little cuties HERE.
Talking Of Chester Zoo Babies
Not a new addition baby but still a baby nonetheless. I saw a short video the other day, I can’t remember where, of baby elephant, Indali Hi Way, out and about again. The last report was that young Indali was on the mend. It seems she is slowly but surely returning to a more normal lifestyle again. Fingers crossed she continues on her road to a full recovery.
As ever, there is plenty going on the Storyhouse in Northgate Street. To see what exactly – have a look HERE.
Any Sports Events In Chester This Easter
Sports wise, Chester FC are at home to Brackley on Monday (22nd April). Kick-off is at 3pm. Will they still have something to play for other than pride? Maybe mathematically but a place in the play-offs may be a step too far when you consider recent results.
And when you consider their results against some of the teams they are likely to face in the play-offs. Sure enough, anything can happen in a one-off knockout game (or two-off as the ties are two legs), but if form is anything to go by, a place in the play-offs may well be short lived.
Chester RUFC on the other hand are on the crest of a wave at the moment. Tomorrow night (18th April) they play Sale FC at Winnington Park – kick-off 7pm. Could be worth having a look.
Anything going on at Blacon Boxing Club does anyone know? Maybe not specifically Easter related but I do know they are going to be building a new “Blacon Boxing Sports Hub”
Such a development obviously needs funding. So, donations would be gratefully accepted for this worthwhile cause. If you are feeling generous, you can make a donation at their “Just Giving” page HERE.
No doubt there are plenty of other things to do in Chester this Easter, but these are the ones that jump out for me. Have a look at the link to this page HERE…and consider those events I mentioned above.
