The Story So Far
Hello folks and welcome to my 100th blog post. Where has the time gone? It seems to have flown by. Although not necessarily a new website anymore it is still only just shy of 9 months old. My very first blog post was on 12th September and touched on the subject of more shop closures – you can see the original article HERE. Much has happened in the last 9 months or so. So, what has been the story so far?
The Story So Far
As mentioned, my first blog post was about shop closures. Ironically enough, my last post was also about a shop closure. This time it discussed a farewell to a Chester institution. On 16th June, jewellers Lowe and Son on Bridge Street Row will close their doors for the last time. You can read this article HERE.
What else has contributed to the story so far?
I have had some really great articles provided to me by Life Coach, David Jamieson, on a regular basis. You can see the articles that David has provided below. You can also find out more of the services David has to offer by checking out his website HERE.

Chester Zoo
Regular readers will know I’m a big fan of Chester Zoo. Also a regular visitor as well. I have written a fair few posts about Chester Zoo. You can see these listed below. No doubt there will be many more Chester Zoo posts as there is always something going on there it seems.

Chester Football Club
At the time of my first post back in September, hopes were high at the Deva Stadium. If I remember rightly, there was talk of reaching the play-offs. Unfortunately however, Chester endured a very disappointing season, culminating in relegation from the Vanarama National League. Next season will see Chester playing in the Vanarama North.
Fingers crossed for all you Chester fans that next season sees a change in fortunes.
You can see my latest Chester FC related post HERE where it was announced Chester FC will have joint managers next season in Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson.
As well as Chester FC, I have given mention to other local sport achievements and events. Chester Races of course and the fabulous achievement of Werby with their Wembley success.
Other topics covered in the story so far include:
Pub Closures – never a good topic to write about. See the original article HERE.
Car Parking Problems – see one of the posts HERE.
The Elderly – they should always be in our thoughts. Remember the Christmas message HERE.
And there has been a fair bit more as well.
Also, in addition to the blog posts there are the fixed pages that look to offer news and information about Chester and for the people of Chester. For instance, for those that are looking to visit Chester, there is the Places To Visit page you can see HERE.
Did you realise the number of famous people from Chester? You can check out our list HERE. Quite a lot of celebrities ranging from Daniel Craig to Brutus the Morrisons Cat. Who is the most famous? Have I missed anyone?
That is broadly the story so far.
Going Forward
Without really realising it there has been a fair amount of time spent on this website now I look at it in its entirety. It’s been a great enjoyment to me in putting this website together. I hope you’ve liked it so far.
Going forward though, what’s next, or what’s new?
There is still a lot I want to include on my website and more to expand on. For instance my recent Have You Moved To Chester post should hopefully prompt some response. I’m really looking forward to hearing from you.
Items I still want to include are sections or categories on the Chester music scene, an events calendar for local events to name just two. I know there are posts on some upcoming events on the website, but I want to structure it better in a sort of a scheduled calendar. It could be an attractive opportunity for businesses, organisations or charities to showcase their upcoming events.
A job section is one I have thought of at times. Also, I would like to promote the Classifieds section a bit more.
In time I want to introduce a section where I profile some of Chester’s better known (or not so well known) Chester characters. I already have a few in mind I would like to profile. Hopefully this will be happening soon.
And there’s more.
One thing I am looking to add on as a service is to produce short promo videos. These can be for a business, an organisation, personal purposes (e.g. a short video for an event or an occasion – a hen party, a holiday, a birthday….etc…etc), or charities. There is a lot of scope for these videos. Especially as they can be (I’m thinking more of the non personal ones) syndicated to a whole raft of video media accounts.
Watch this space…..expect to see a few sample videos appearing on the website very soon!!!
If you are wanting a video producing….then drop me a line.
Also of course, there will continue to be posts on the regular subjects. Chester Zoo, Chester FC and David Jamieson’s articles to name just three.
If there’s anything you would like to see included in the website that isn’t already, then drop me a line. Or, leave a comment in the box below.
Thanks for reading my website and thanks for the likes, the retweets and the comments. Hopefully Chester Lifestyle will continue to develop and grow and continue to be a website not just about Chester, but also for the people of Chester.
Speak soon.
