The Return Of ChickenGate
Well that didn’t last long did it. It wasn’t that long ago I was writing about ChickenGate and the foul deposits left by some strange person, or people, in our back alley. Popping out on my pushbike yesterday into the alleyway I was confronted by “The Return Of ChickenGate.” Or, “ChickenGate Part II” or whatever you want to call it.
The Return Of ChickenGate
Irrespective of a correct name for this disgusting behaviour, the fact that some inconsiderate, selfish individual, or individuals, are taking it upon themselves to dump more food into the alley is beyond any normal, sane person’s comprehension.
Here’s a photo of what I was confronted with yesterday. Pretty disgusting really isn’t it.
Quite how they think dumping the chicken over the grid is a better option beggars belief. You don’t need me to remind you of all the problems this selfish act brings. Rats, mice, foxes(?), flies, not being able to use the alleyway properly and so on. No doubt, other neighbours will now avoid the alley. Very much like the last time we had a big dump of the stuff.
The Return Of ChickenGate – Let The Email Trail Commence
You may remember in my previous post the Council (eventually) came out to clear the mess. But not after a fair bit of huffing and puffing. Not to mention a reluctance by my contact at the Council to acknowledge there was a problem.
When he did finally respond to emails he tried to say that he sent a team to inspect the alley and all they found was a few bits of garden rubbish. Only when I sent him a photo and a video of the disgusting mess did they come and clean it.
Not for the first time, he also suggested that we meet up (or talk) to find a best solution going forward. From past communications I knew this was merely paying lip service. You know the sort of thing. Someone telling you something you want to hear just to silence you. “Leave it with me and I’ll get back to you” sort of thing. You’ll get the drift.
Also, again not for the first time, I emailed my contact (after hearing nothing) asking for the contact details of the Head of the Directorate responsible. Again he has not replied.
Instead I will ring the main switchboard on Monday and ask for the head honcho.
Apart from that though.
The Return Of ChickenGate – Another Appeal
I’m not so naive to think that this will definitely have the desired effect, but if you don’t try. So, let me try again and make an appeal to those dumping the chicken. Please stop dumping fresh, cooked and half cooked food in the alleyway please. Which alleyway? The alleyway between Ermine Road and West Street in Hoole.
Also, Part B of the appeal. If anyone knows who the culprit(s) is, then please step forward. Many thanks.
In the meantime though, a call on Monday to CWAC will hopefully get things moving forward. We can’t go on like this.
Let’s hope “The Return of ChickenGate” is the last post on the subject. We can only hope.
