Plenty Of Things You Can Do Today
A quick post folks as I’m conscious that time is of the essence. In short, if you are looking for something to do today, then I think it’s fair to say that there are plenty of things you can do.
Such as…….
Plenty Of Things You Can Do
Much will depend on the weather in certain circumstances. For instance, there is a race meeting at The Roodee (of course, where else would it be!!!). Today’s meeting is the annual family day event. Traditionally this is the meeting where friends and families converge onto the course and have their picnics, have a few sherbets, a few laughs……oh, and watch the racing!!!
As it is such a well loved occasion and families and race fans alike look forward to this immensely, I hope the weather holds out and a great day is had by all.
Officially known as the Family Funday, you can find out more about what’s happening HERE.
Plenty Of Things You Can Do-Hoole Beer Festival
Meanwhile, over in Hoole (Notting Hoole), the Hoole Beer Festival adds to the “Plenty Of Things You Can Do” theme. The festival has been on since Friday actually. Today though you can enjoy the festivities from 12pm to 5pm. Plenty of things you can do there as well – for more details, have a look HERE.
Great beer, live music and tasty food. Throw in a a few good chats with some old (or new) friends and there you go…..a fair few boxes ticked. What’s not to like.
Plenty Of Things To Do – My Regular Favourites
Of course, as far as outside activities go, you can’t ignore two of my old favourites. A day out at Chester Zoo – have a look HERE, on the off chance you’ve been living under a rock and you are not aware of our multi award winning attraction, to see what Chester Zoo is all about. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….a day out at Chester Zoo is mega!!!
It’s sunny at the moment – but will it stay that way? If it does, what about one of my other favourites. The Groves, by the River Dee. What happens at The Groves? Have a look HERE to give you an idea. Again, another fabulous location in our beautiful city for you to enjoy.
Just In Case The Weather’s Not Good
If the weather isn’t too good, or indeed, if you prefer indoor activities anyway, you can always pop into The Shrop by the Town Hall for the ‘first Sunday in the month” 70’s bop!!!
This event is already very popular and from the last couple of months, it seems to be gathering pace and getting even more popular. To give you an idea of what you will find, see what I wrote about last month’s occasion, by having a shuftie HERE.
The event runs from 3pm to 7pm (by which time some of us ‘oldies’ have had enough and it’s nearly time for bed!!!).
Or, what about a bit of Sunday afternoon karaoke!!! The Oddfellows in Frodsham Street has karaoke on until (I think) 7pm.
All in all, you could do a bit of mixing and matching and attend more than one event. For instance, you can listen to a few tunes at The Shrop and still have time to ‘knock ’em bandy’ with a few renditions of your own at The Oddies. Result!!!
Don’t forget though, there are other fabulous things you can do apart from the above. Clicking this link HERE will give you a few ideas.
Without a doubt there are plenty of things you can do today. So, what you waiting for!!! Finish your lunch early and get along to one (or more) of these great events.
Have fun whatever you choose to do.
