Hoole Christmas Lights 2023
OK folks, a definite date for your diary. The event is the Hoole Christmas Lights 2023 switch on. The big switch on is happening on Saturday 18th November at 6pm. An event not to be missed if previous years are anything to go by. Always a great occasion for local Hoole residents and beyond.
The occasion though is more than a lights switch on only. There is always more going on aside from the turning on of the lights. So, what can we expect this year? Read on to find out more.
Hoole Christmas Lights 2023
The image above was one I took from a previous year’s switch on. There’s always been a great turn out. No doubt this year won’t be any different.
At this year’s event, visitors will be treated to live music from 5pm to 9pm. And the whole event will be supported by local radio. The organisers normally invite a well known local personality to perform the switch on duties. This year it will be the well known and popular former PCSO, Keith Bartlett to carry out the necessaries. Keith has recently retired so quite a swansong and sign off for Keith.
As always, the event is free to attend, but it is worth noting that it does of course cost a fair bit of money to run and administer the event. In the region of £10,000 in fact. This covers the costs to organise the event on the day, to install the lights and to maintain and insure the lights throughout the Christmas period.

Hoole Christmas Lights 2023 – Make A Day Of It
As already stated, the switch on is always a great occasion. Hoole Christmas Lights 2023 will no doubt be yet another enjoyable experience.
Why not make an afternoon and evening of it? A bit of retail therapy in Faulkner Street and Charles Street first. Maybe a bite to eat. And a cheeky snifter or two in one of the great choice of bars. If you do attend, I hope you have an enjoyable day.
