Everyone Is Welcome Here
As everyone knows there is so much going on at the moment. Living conditions and standards are compromised for so many to say the least. The landscape changes constantly almost on a daily basis. Moving aside from any political issues or discussions, it is at times like these many people show their true colours and what they are made of. A case in point, read this short article below and click the links. The article title of “Everyone Is Welcome Here” is so thoughtful and so considerate.
A huge thanks to Lianne and her family at the Waggon and Horses in Blacon for this fantastic gesture. Carry on reading for more details.
Everyone Is Welcome Here
You will no doubt have heard the news about free school meals being stopped by the Government. It was voted down by our Parliament last week. It’s no big surprise that this has caused a lot of angst nationwide. To the extent that a Premier League, England international has entered the arena.
Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, is massively involved in not only supporting the plight of these needy youngsters, but he is actually fronting a major campaign. Hats off to him, big style. And hats off to those fans who contributed the rip-off…….er, I mean the requested, £14.95 for recent pay per view (PPV) fee for games on Sky.
I’m aware of Liverpool and Newcastle United fans sending their £14.95 to more worthwhile causes instead of to Sky to watch the game. I heard in Liverpool fan’s case, they contributed £113,000 plus in less than 24 hours. Liverpool FC themselves are helping. As no doubt other clubs are.
These instances are mentioned to give you a flavour of how the public’s reaction has been. To quote that famous and poignant phrase: “The Power of the People is Greater than the People in Power.”
And the “Power of the People” is starting to shine through in so many instances. On a local level for example, consider this extremely generous proposal. A mutually followed fellow Twitter member has announced their family’s generous offer. The family in question run the Waggon and Horses pub in Blacon.
This is their incredible offer.
Everyone Is Welcome Here At The Waggon and Horses
The Waggon are providing free meals for kids all this week, Monday to Friday. The meals are available between 12pm and 2pm. Not only that, the pub will also deliver these free kids meals locally, Monday-Friday for any children that are self isolating. If you need any help, please let Lianne know. Lianne’s Twitter link is here – https://twitter.com/Queenbeedee80.
Send Lianne a direct message if you need any help.
A great effort by Daz, Lianne and all the family.
Other Places
Other places offering FREE meals for children that I am aware of include:
Burger Shed – https://twitter.com/burgershed41
Urbano32 – https://twitter.com/urbano32chester
There will probably more, but these are the one I am aware of. As I hear of any more I will update this post.
Brilliant stuff. It is heartwarming to hear of such selfless acts. It does restore your trust in human faith and people generally.
Thanks for reading folks. And if you’re in Blacon, get yourself along to the Waggon and Horses if your children are in need of a meal. As at about 1pm, there had been 72 recipients of a free meal. Keep in mind, this offer is available right up to Friday this week.
