Don’t Forget The Elderly
As the weather is now really cold and the snow falls, please don’t forget the elderly. It goes without saying anyway that we should be aware of keeping an eye out of them all the year round. But, even more so with this horrible weather upon us.
Don’t Forget The Elderly
If you know of anyone maybe living alone and potentially vulnerable, then why not give them a knock to make sure they’re OK. Or, even go that extra mile and see if you can get them anything. It isn’t too much to ask.
In a post last week I mentioned the Share Shop and their Emergency Shelter. If you haven’t seen that post, here is a link to it HERE. This still also applies and so much more so this weekend. But, maybe a bit closer to home, go and give an elderly neighbour a knock or a ring.

If You’re Going Shopping
If you are going shopping over the weekend then why not ask if your elderly neighbour wants anything? They may need something simple like a pint of milk, a loaf or some tea bags but getting out may be too treacherous for them. Packing an extra bag shouldn’t be too much effort. You never know, a packet of biscuits may be on their shopping list. If it is, you never know, you may get invited in for a cup of tea and a cheeky digestive or two for your efforts.
Staying In Contact
As well as maybe giving your neighbour a knock, you may want to leave them with your contact number in case of an emergency. As the saying often goes, we will all be old some day. Let’s remember that and look after our elderly as we would like to be looked after.
