Covid Scam Warning
Here’s a very important possible Covid Scam Warning to be aware of. And it’s one that I can say I’ve had first hand experience of. Have a read of the official message below. Be careful folks and stay vigilant. And, if you can, please spread the word. The origin of the message is another very informative heads up from Cheshire Police.
Anyway, here’s the official Cheshire Police Alert message.
Covid Scam Warning
Watch out for fake text messages pretending to be from the NHS.
Since Jan 1st, 412 victims have reported losses totalling more than £531,000.

What you need to look out for:
Be aware of requests for personal information in messages claiming to be from the NHS.
Be alert to links or attachments in unexpected messages claiming to be from the NHS.
Do not respond to requests for money, bank details or passwords.
The NHS will NEVER ask for payment or any financial details. How to report scam messages: If you are suspicious about an email, forward it to report@phishing.gov.uk.
If you are suspicious about a text message, forward it to the number 7726 (it’s free of charge).

Covid Scam Warning – A Message I Recently Received
I received one of these messages. It didn’t look right at all as the message said that I had been in contact with someone with Covid in the last couple of days. I was requested to click a link, but I didn’t as I hadn’t been anywhere to be in contact with anyone.
It is a worry as these messages seem so convincing. But as the advice above says, if you do follow the links with all good intentions, don’t send any money anywhere. Basically, don’t do the things as advised above.
Stay safe folks and, as I said above, please spread the word if you can.
