Chester Festival Of Ideas 2025
You may recall that in July just gone there was the very first Chester Festival Of Ideas series of events taking place across the city. After taking a quick peep at the Chester Festival website, I see the dates for next year have been announced. And they are, Thursday 3rd July 2025 to Sunday 6th July 2025. If you did miss last year’s inaugural event and not sure what it’s all about, then read on for more information.
The Festival of Ideas is a programme of free public events held in and around Chester, with events organised and delivered by University staff and students and our external partners and stakeholders. This year’s Festival established a hub at Chester Town Hall and delivered more than 80 events, including talks, exhibitions, performances and workshops.

In preparation for 2025, the team have booked the Town Hall and are in the process of securing 2025’s high-profile speakers. As an employee of the Uni, I have been invited to offer my own event suggestions. Right then, where do I start? I have loads of ideas. There’s still plenty of time left to submit these suggestions, so I may just give them an airing on here in advance.
However, as a general thought, I think it is important that suggestions of events cover as many options as possible. Without going into too much detail, I’ll shed a bit more light. I’m talking about, for example, sporting events, entertainment, cultural, historical to name just a few broad headings. I’ll even give a bit of an insight of an idea I had last year and one I will repeat this year. What about a Chester International Event?
Regular visitors to my website will know what I mean. A while ago I started a category here on my blog called exactly that. Chester International. Did you know, that there 36 other Chester’s in the world? You didn’t. Oh, right then, have a look at my Chester International category HERE. I do find it fascinating to read about and find out more about the other Chester’s in the world. So, what about a Chester International Day? Leave it with me, I have an idea.
That’s only one idea. I do have more. But anyway, a good place to start maybe. So, watch this space, as they say, for more updates.
