Chester Christmas Market 2025
So many of us say this don’t we. “Doesn’t it come around quick!!” And as we get older it comes around even quicker it seems. I am talking about, in case you hadn’t guessed, Christmas. Tis the season to be jolly and all that. Yo…..ho….ho….he said rubbing his belly while throwing back his head. Time to get into the Christmas spirit if you haven’t done so already. Especially as tomorrow is the 1st December. To get into the swing of things ourselves, we thought we would pop into town yesterday and sample the atmos. And in particular, in and around Chester Christmas Market 2025. Fair do’s, we were impressed. Not only at the Christmas markets but at town in general. Let’s take a closer look.
Chester Christmas Market 2025

One of the things I was particularly interested in was to see if, like last year, the Christmas market stalls were extended to behind the Coach House in the Exchange Square space outside the main market entrance. The stalls that make up this market is known as Chester Christmas Makers Market. Sure enough the stalls were there. And plenty of them. What really set the scene was a really good female harmony trio getting everyone in the mood with their selection of Christmas songs. So far a really good start to our Chester Christmas Market 2025 experience.
I did notice that there are quite a few, more than last year, poster, digital artwork images type stalls in the Square. Maybe say about four. That wasn’t a problem as each stall seemed to be selling different types of image genres. Some sports related, some movies, some music, Boho design – that sort of thing. Quite a few food stalls as well. Cakes, pies, sausage rolls, a selection of Lebanese specialities, cheeses to name a few. There was also a popular looking crochet stall, judging by the people around it. A stall offering a variety of crocheted products. Some of which that would be excellent presents for children and grandchildren. Good to see the art and skills of crocheting continuing and hopefully prospering, in this day and age.
In Front Of The Town Hall
Walking back around to in front of the Town Hall, the crowds had grown even more. It was well busy. Good if you are a stall holder and people are spending money. Again, as in previous years, plenty of food stalls but I did feel that there was a better balance of stalls compared to other years. It was good to see our favourite stall return again this year – Moose and Bear Design. We particularly like the papercut style creations. Great value as well. We’ll no doubt be buying a gift or two from there between now and the end of the markets.
All in all, Chester Christmas Market 2025 was a hit with us. A good array of stalls, a bit of festive Christmas entertainment, plenty of food choices and a really feelgood atmosphere and vibe to the whole experience. We liked it that much we’re going back again later.
By the way, I’ve cheated a little bit with the image above. As it was so busy yesterday, all the photos I took were full of people and not any that showed enough of the stalls and captured the overall festive spirit. So, in true Blue Peter style, “here’s one I produced earlier” – a photo I took last year towards the end of the day when it was quieter and captured more of the Christmas spirit.
I hope this next bit helps. Chester Christmas Market 2025 runs until 19th December. The stalls are open:
10:30am to 6:30pm – Sunday to Wednesday and 10:30am to 8:00pm Thursday to Saturday.
