Cheshire West Covid 19 Financial Support For Businesses
Here’s a very important message for local businesses located in Cheshire West and Chester. News of some more vital support in the shape of a “Cheshire West Covid-19 Financial Support for Businesses.”
As you may have noticed recently, a variety of business support measures have been announced. These have varied from Government support – e.g. SEISS – and offers of assistance from the local Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub. See an earlier post on support offered by the Growth Hub HERE.
In this case, the assistance is offered by Cheshire West and Chester Council. As mentioned above, this comes in the form of a “Cheshire West Covid-19 Financial Support for Businesses.” More details below.
Cheshire West Covid 19 Financial Support for Businesses
Businesses located in Cheshire West and Chester that had to close due to Covid-19 restrictions are being encouraged to apply for new important funding. Be aware, that applications for these grants can be applied for as from today – 10th November.

Also, make a note of this. A free webinar will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 3.30pm. This webinar will explain how the new grant works, how to apply and it will also answer questions you may have.
The webinar will be broadcast live for up to 250 businesses who are able to register. To register to join the webinar, click this link HERE.
Although places are limited to 250 attendants, the event will be recorded and will be made available online.
During the webinar you will hear from Chief Executive, Andrew Lewis, as well as hear news from the grant payment team and CWAC’s business growth team.
Who Can Apply?
There is a single application form for businesses produced by CWAC which will establish if support is available from one of the four Government grants. Namely,
- “There are Grants available for rateable businesses forced to close during the national lockdown.
- Grants available to businesses affected by the national lockdown that are forced to close and are not eligible under the national lockdown scheme above.
- Also, Grants are available for business affected by Tier 2 (High Alert) restrictions;
- Grants available for businesses mandated to close since March.”
Businesses in hospitality, leisure and accommodation as well as non-essential retail, personal care, sports facilities and mobile businesses could also be eligible.
Which Businesses Are Not Eligible?
The type of businesses that are not eligible for these one-off grants include; businesses that can continue to trade who don’t depend on direct in-person trade. This also includes professional services, manufacturing, digital and creative businesses. Also, essential retail and businesses allowed to stay open won’t be eligible.
