Cheshire Police Appeal
I don’t normally post about individual, local crimes. Well to be more precise, the sort of posts like, “man fined for drink driving”, or “drugs found on man on a bench”. However if there is a crime that warrants spreading the word in an attempt to help the local police, then that’s a different kettle of fish. This particular Cheshire Police appeal fits into that latter category.
This particular incident just illustrates how low some people stoop. It is well worth a mention if it helps catch the cowardly culprit.
Here’s details of the incident below…….
Cheshire Police Appeal
Our crimewatch expert, John from Blacon, has provided me with the details.
POLICE are appealing for details after a man stole an 88-year-old woman’s purse in Aldi in Chester.
Officers have released CCTV images of a man they are looking to speak to following the incident.
Shortly after 10am on Wednesday, September 18, an 88-year-woman was shopping at Aldi on Tarvin Road, Boughton, when an unknown man stole her purse from her handbag containing about £400 along with a number of bank cards.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are urging anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images, or has information regarding his identity or whereabouts, to come forward.
Police Constable Emma Donaldson, of Chester Local Policing Unit, said: “To stoop so low as to steal from an elderly woman is shameful and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the man responsible.
“As part of our enquiries we want to identify and speak to the man in the CCTV images as we believe he may be able to assist with our enquiries.
“If you think you recognise him or know who he is please call the team here at Chester Police Station on 101, quoting IML 516245, give us the details via cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch.”
Cheshire Police Appeal-Can You Help?
I feel it is important for as many platforms as possible report such crimes. So, can you help with this Cheshire Police appeal? Hopefully so. If not, may I ask that you spread the word. You would think that there would be somewhere out there who recognises this individual.
Thanks for reading and thanks for spreading the word.
