Cameron Rowley
In case you didn’t know brave young Chester FC fan, Cameron Rowley, passed away on 6th August. He was surrounded by his family. Cameron was well known to all at Chester FC and his passing is felt by so many.
This post is to let you know that it is Cameron’s funeral this Tuesday coming – 21st August at 10am, Blacon Crematorium.
Cameron Rowley
The Chester Chronicle reported his passing and paid tribute to the brave young man in this article HERE.
His mother, Jacqueline, who is facing a cancer battle herself, broke the news of his death in a post on ‘Cameron’s Cause’ – a Facebook page set up to document her son’s progress – she wrote: “So utterly heartbroken to say that this afternoon my beautiful Cameron passed away at home with his family around him xx.”
Cameron was suffering from a rare form of cancer known as desmoplastic small-round-cell tumour (DSRCT).
He never gave up his battle though. He bravely battled the disease for over three years. His Dad, Brendan, was so very proud of his brave trooper. As he says, “I could never be more proud of you son for never giving up. You have battled hard for over three years and you were the best role model for your brothers”.
Such a tragic, sad loss of a life.
Cameron’s Funeral
Cameron’s family have invited all Chester FC fans to attend his funeral on Tuesday. They have also requested that those attending wear yellow or display a yellow flower. Yellow was Cameron’s favourite colour. The service will be carried out by Chester FC club chaplain, Guy Lister.
I would like to take this opportunity to offer my deepest condolences to Cameron’s family. No doubt Chester FC will have many representatives there on Tuesday. Players, ex-players and officials. Cameron made that big of an impression on everyone.
So, all you Chester FC fans reading this, go get yourself a yellow shirt or a yellow flower, make your way to Blacon Crematorium on Tuesday and give this brave, young man the send off he so truly deserves.
RIP Cameron Rowley.
