Amazon Scam Message
As already mentioned on many occasions we are always looking to inform you and warn you all of any scams knocking around. And, at this time of the year, there are plenty unfortunately. I’ve had a new Amazon scam message this morning. I’ve copied the text of the message below. Take heed and if you get one with a similar text to this then you know what to do. Ignore it and report it.
Here’s the message for you to be aware of.
Amazon Scam Message
The text in the body of the email appears like this:
| “We detected suspicious movements in your account and blocked it as precaution. |
We found a number of unusual transactions, we have temporarily disabled all payment methods in your account.
You can log in to this account – and review all the personal and billing payment here:
Do not reply to this automated message.
In the original email there was a clickable “Verify” link in between the last two sentences. For extra security I’ve left that out.
Amazon Scam Message – Dodgy Looking Email Address
Another thing worth noting is that the sender’s email address was a string of random looking letters and numbers. This is quite a common thing to look out for. No indication it has come from Amazon. There was an Amazon logo in the top left of the email. But, of course, they could get that from anywhere.
There was a legit looking Amazon address at the foot of the email, but again that’s easy enough to replicate. As Amazon will be so very active at this time of the year, I imagine Amazon scams will be plenty. Sorry, let me clarify that. Not Amazon scams from Amazon themselves, but fraudsters purporting to be from Amazon. Will these scammers ever let up? We can only hope can’t we.
