Alfie Watts – Recovering In Alder Hey
I am sure you have all heard of the terrible incident involving young 10 year-old Saltney lad, Alfie Watts, last week. In case you didn’t know, Alfie was involved in an alleged hit and run situation.
Young Alfie was riding his push bike when he was knocked down in Park Avenue, Saltney on Sunday 6th January.

This particular article is to wish Alfie all the best on his road to recovery.
Also though, the article aims to make people aware of the fundraising page that has been set up to ease his family’s monetary worries as they face a long road ahead of them in nursing Alfie back to full health.
Alfie’s godmother, Mandy O’Brien, initially set up the fundraising page with the aim of raising £1,000. This target was passed in three hours. The fund is now in excess of £6,900.
Mandy added that there has been an outpouring of support and donations through the page. In addition, she has been approached by local businesses and organisations who are to hold fundraising events in aid of her appeal.
These fundraising events include Wizz Kidz in Saltney. They are holding a fundraising event between 4pm and 6pm on Monday. Tickets for which cost £4 on the door.
My old stomping ground local pub, the Saltney Ferry, are also getting involved. They are holding a Grease themed bingo session on January 26.
The Catholic School in Chester, a school attended by Alfie’s 14-year-old brother Charlie, will hold a City Jazz Orchestra concert from 7.30pm on February 1.
