Oktoberfest Chester
Good morning one and all in Chester, visitors and locals alike. Or should I say, Guten Morgen!! Why “Guten Morgen” you may ask? Well, in case you didn’t know, today sees Oktoberfest Chester take place at the Live Rooms, Station Road. It starts at 12pm and goes on until 10pm. Tickets are still available – see HERE.
As Chester’s first Oktoberfest, it promises to be a popular and eventful occasion. How could it not be eventful when we have the opportunity to sample copious amounts of beer, sample tasty German food like Bratwurst and dance along to German music. The famous beer-fuelled Munich based beer fest being held in Chester. What’s not to like.

But what if you don’t like Bratwurst. Not to worry, you can also sample beer, giant pretzels, a German (sorry, Bavarian) barbecue and sauerkraut (being brought up on it as a kid, you can’t beat a bit of sauerkraut!!). In fact, all things German are on the menu. Oh, did I mention you could sample beer as well. And lot’s of it if that is your want. Not that I am condoning binge, or excessive drinking, but there will be plenty of beer for you to sample.
Remember all those booze-fuelled 18-30 holidays we all went on back in my heyday? Forget them, they’re “kid’s programme” compared to Oktoberfest. The phrase, “fill yer boots” could be many visitor’s mantra.
Forgetting the beer and the food for one moment. What about the music? The ideal location of the Live Rooms in Station Road will see that the Live Room’s hall will be decked out in all things Deutschland. And did I mention that there will be loads of beer to sample?
So, whether you are partial to some sauerkraut, or fancy a bit of German sausage….now, now, mind out the sewer please, I mean bratwurst, there’s something for all food fans! As well as beers (not sure if I mentioned there was beer available?), there will also be a selection of spirits from all around the globe. You can join in the fun and get involved with classic beer party games like beer pong and flip cup!
To help entertain you, there will be traditional German dancers and entertainers on display throughout. Don’t worry, you don’t have to wear lederhosen to join in. But if you have a lederhosen…then why not!!
So, if you see some beery-eyed men staggering around Chester later wearing “hot pants”, then you will know why. As for the women, won’t they be staggering as well? Of course not, they are far too refined for that. They leave their staggering for Chester Races!!! Now, that gives me an idea for another post!!
If you are going, then I hope you enjoy it. As already said, “fill yer boots”, but remember…everything in moderation.
