Chester Paddle Board Festival
I’ve mentioned many times about how much I love a trip down to The Groves alongside the River Dee. Such a relaxing beautiful spot to watch the world go by and enjoy yourself. You can of course do more than just simply sit on a bench and relax. You can, if you were feeling energetic enough, take out a small peddle boat. Or, if not so energetic, a small fuel driven boat. Even maybe better still, why not take a trip on one of the cruise boats like the Lady Diana. You might even fancy a bite to eat at one of the many eateries, or a cheeky glass of something. Always something going on and things to do. Like this Sunday (16th June) for instance. This Sunday you can enjoy a trip down to the river and watch this year’s Chester Paddle Board Festival.
So, what is the Chester Paddle Board Festival all about? Have a read below to find out more.
Chester Paddle Board Festival
In short, the Chester Paddle Board Festival is a fun charity event organised by The Rotary Club of Chester. It is to be held this Sunday, 16th June and more details are as follows:
- Open to all paddleboarders, under 16’s with adult supervision
- entrance Fee £10 per board
- All proceeds go to Charity
A fun, sporty day out to be enjoyed by all the family. And, very importantly, all proceeds will go to charities. Namely, the beneficiary of the event will be Chester and District Federation for the Blind and other local charities.
You can, if you wish, take part in fancy dress. It all adds to the fun. There will be prizes for the most outstanding costumes. Hmmm……just imagine taking part as Captain Pugwash!! I wonder how many are scratching their head at this point asking, Captain who? Ah……when I was a lad and all that.
You can find out more of what to expect in this link here https://chesterpaddleboardfestival.uk/event-information/ – have a good look around their website.
If it’s anything like the annual Raft Race it will be an excellent day out. Let’s hope for some long awaited, good weather. Have fun everyone.
