Chester Zoo Recent News

As Spring approaches, more people will be thinking about more outdoor activities. Certainly more so as the weather gets better. And, no doubt, some outdoor activities thoughts will involve our world famous attraction right on our doorstep. Which also happens to be one of my favourite places on the planet. The post title will have already told you, I am referring to Chester Zoo. Many will know, there is always something going on at the Zoo. So, why not take a look at Chester Zoo recent news in this post.

Where do we start? I know, let’s give a mention to the Snow Leopard habitat. The amazing new snow leopard habitat will be open to visitors from Monday 25 March where you could catch a glimpse of Nubra and Yashin settling into their new home. I must admit, I do like all felines. Aren’t snow leopards stunning. Mind you, I’ll bet a packet of Whiskers won’t go far with these cuties.

A great time to open the new habitat – right in time for the Easter weekend and beyond. No doubt a visit from yours truly is imminent.

Talking of Easter. The Zoo’s “Really Wild Easter” trail is back. This Easter holiday the Zoo are challenging you to discover GIANT animal eggs hidden around the zoo, So, join the search and claim your prize! The event runs from 24th March until 14th April. By way of a sweetener…..no pun intended, complete the challenge and collect your free sweet treat as your reward from the gift shop!

Chester Zoo Recent News – Welcome

Finally in this brief update, many of you will have seen that there was another joyous, new arrival announcement last week. Mother giraffe, Orla, gave birth to a, as yet unnamed, baby Rothschild giraffe. One of the most at risk mammals in the world.

Welcome to the world and welcome to Chester Zoo little ‘un. And a huge well done to Orla, the baby’s father and all the staff at Chester Zoo who were involved in this fantastic occasion.
