Christmas In Chester 2023

Christmas is always a special, magical time for so many people around the world. Christmas in Chester is no exception. As ever, there are plenty of events and activities to interest many of us this coming festive season. So, what can we expect to see when we are looking to celebrate Christmas in Chester 2023.

As there is so much going on, it is probably best to provide you with a link that highlights most, if not all, Christmas events this year. Take a look at this Christmas in Chester 2023 link for a fuller picture of what to expect.

One of the regular annual highlights of course is the Christmas market. The market as always is to be found by the Town Hall and it starts on Friday 17th November and runs until Thursday 21st December.

Christmas Markets at the Town Hall

“City Centre Christmas market – Friday 17 November – Thursday 21 December – “Chester’s hugely popular Christmas Market resides outside Chester Town Hall on Northgate Street festively wrapped around the sparkling centrepiece of Chester’s beautiful Christmas tree.

The market will run from Friday 18 November until Wednesday 21 December, Sundays to Wednesdays 10.30 am – 6.30 pm, Thursdays to Saturdays 10.30 am – 8 pm.”

Please note, the sub heading is correct – i.e. it is Friday 17th and not Friday 18th as per the narrative. Just in case any thought the date was correct and turned up on the Saturday instead. An easy enough typo to make, but we wouldn’t want to see anyone miss out if looking for the opening celebrations.

Also worth noting is that there are in the region of 70 traders displaying their goods. The traders will be situated in the square around the town hall, the new arcade, and the forum. As ever, the iconic, sparkling Christmas tree will be the focal point.

I must say, I liked the idea of the stalls in and around the new market entrance last year. They enhanced the real Christmas and market feel to the occasion. I wonder if outside stalls will be a consideration at other times of the year?
