Garden Thefts Alert
It seems that these scammers, thieves, scallies, or whatever you would like to call them, are hell bent on separating us from our prized possessions. Regular website visitors will know that there are plenty of valuable Chester Crimewatch posts added here on Chester Lifestyle, on a regular basis. Thanks in the main to regular contributor, John from Blacon. John has again provided us with another extremely important safety alert message. Thanks again John. Your valuable contributions are always well received and of great significance. This latest one is no exception. This is a garden thefts alert. It’s only a short message, but very informative and worth reading nonetheless.

“Garden Theft – 1 in 10 UK gardens broken into – Is my garden a target for burglars? As a nation we’re investing more in our gardens. Brits store more than £1,000 worth of goods* in outdoor spaces – from hot tubs to tools in the shed. These items add up, but do you know if your expensive items are covered?
*How did we get this figure? All figures taken from omnibus research carried out by One Poll on behalf of Confused.com. This was an online poll of 2,000 UK adults who live in a property with a garden, garage, shed or outbuilding. The research was conducted between 17 February and 19 February 2021. All a matter of us all taking a few simple steps to prevent OUR goods falling into the hands of burglars!”

You only need to look in other people’s gardens to see how much effort, pride and joy go into a well loved and constructed garden. My sisters and brother-in-laws for instance are always in their gardens. And they love it. One of my brother-in-laws has even built his own pond. As has a very good friend of mine. Maybe that’s not such a special achievement if they happen to be landscape gardeners or building garden ponds was their occupation. But not so. They did so purely out of interest and as a sort of a hobby. A bit of research and a few garden ponds YouTube videos and job’s a good ‘un. The results? Pretty spectacular really.
The point I’m making is that gardens are very much things of beauty and things of huge interest. And as such and as so much effort has gone into these developments, many gardens are adequately secured. But, as per the article above, some aren’t so. Let’s hope this article will focus the mind for all garden lovers and the necessary security measures are taken care of.
Thanks for reading my “Garden Thefts Alert” post and thanks for visiting my Chester Lifestyle – it’s much appreciated. I’m now off to grab a cool drink in our lovely (not my work!!!) garden on our decking.
