White Lane Studio
Now here’s a post I’ve been meaning to write for some time. So, firstly apologies to Diane (that would be Diane Stafford), the owner of local digital design business, White Lane Studio.
Before I get into my story of my connection with Diane, just a quick mention that it is my intention to give some local businesses a shout out now and then. I have already done a few. But not enough really. Mind you, I’m currently looking at a few options I have in mind that may help local businesses. In these difficult times, suggestions of a bit of a leg up for local businesses may just be the ticket. As they say, watch this space.
But the above is a bit of an aside in this particular instance. My shout out for White Lane Studio isn’t a post aimed at offering assistance. Not at all. It is a thank you post and a long overdue opportunity to herald the work that Diane carried out for me. If it does also help to plug Diane’s services though, then all well and good. That’s an added bonus. And it would be well deserved.
But before I get into what Diane did for me, let’s have a quick look at White Lane Studio first shall we.
White Lane Studio
So, what services does Diane provide under her White Lane Studio brand name? The easiest way to answer that is to quote a few snippets from the White Lane Studio website. Here goes:
“White Lane Studio is the creative hub of Chester Artist, Diane Stafford, Dip.RSA
White Lane Studio fine art textures & overlays and design elements are used by web designers, photographers, authors, artists, and other creatives to enhance their own work with easy to use, time saving, artistic design elements.”
And to quote Diane herself:
“As a digital designer, I essentially combine traditional mixed media art with pixels to create fine art textures & overlays, digital brushes, surface patterns and more, to help artists, authors, photographers and design creatives save time.
Dip RSA by the way means “Diploma Royal Society of Arts” in case you didn’t know.
Those couple of snippets only scratches the surface of course as to what services Diane provides. So, ideally, it would make sense for you to head on over to the White Lane Studio website and have a good look around it.
And to save you the trouble of having to Google it and to make sure you can access it OK, the link to Diane’s website is HERE. So, go and have a look.
Oy…..oy……not yet. Finish reading the article first. Then have a look. To be on the safe side I think I’d better put the link in again at the bottom of this post.
White Lane Studio – Great Service From Diane
Right, so how did I get to hear about Diane. In short and quite simply it was Diane who reached out to me in my hour of need actually. Last October was one of my sister’s special birthdays. We always make a fuss for each other at birthdays. This one wasn’t any different. Having already stocked up with a fair few pressies, I was busily trying to think of something that bit special to top it all off.
What I thought was, to take one of my sister’s favourite photos of herself and her husband and do something different with it. So, I put a message on a local forum reaching out for some assistance. One idea was to take the photo, enlarge it then convert it to a canvas. Still very much up in the air though as, not being “arty” as such, or “digitally,” I didn’t know what was achievable.
I am very glad to say that Diane responded to my request for assistance. And there the next stage of the journey commenced. The service Diane provided was excellent to say the least.
Diane Went The Extra Mile…..And More
All I did basically was to provide Diane with the original photo and from there Diane worked her magic. She not only provided me with a canvas version (after enlarging the original), Diane also provided me with a photo version of the same, enlarged size as well.
And she didn’t just enlarge and convert. If that’s the correct terminology. No siree. While having a good look at the photo, Diane’s “arty” skills kicked in and rather than just enlarge and convert as I say, she came back to me with some photo edit adjustment suggestions. Some that a mere novice like me wouldn’t have noticed. Or, even thought they could be done.
The two finished articles – the enlarged photo version and the canvas – after the edits, were excellent. Top quality to say the least.
There are many technically gifted people out there in a variety of disciplines and niches. Diane certainly fits into the technically gifted category. But, where a service stands out from the rest for me, is one that is prepared to go that extra mile and treat the extra mileage as part of the normal service. Diane ticked that box more than once.
Brilliant work Diane and overall a brilliant service as well. My sister is well chuffed with the pressie and it now hangs as a pride of place in their living room
White Lane Studio – A Cheeky Plug
As I mentioned above, this post is a thank you post and a chance for me to herald Diane’s work. In fact Diane mentioned to me that she was moving away from providing ‘services’ (like my request) and instead she is looking to grow her digital only products (sold through marketplaces). You will get a better idea of what I mean by having a look at this link – https://whitelanestudio.co.uk/biolinks.
Does this mean that Diane won’t be doing any more ‘services’ work at all? I don’t know. The best way to find out is to head on over to her website and ask via the “Get In Touch” page. The link to Diane’s website again can be found HERE.
So, I know I said this post wasn’t going to be a plug, but this last bit is. After all, as I always say, it’s my website and I’ll do what I like with it. So there!!! And I would like to plug Diane’s business. In fact, Diane doesn’t know I am posting this, so my plug is my decision.
Thanks again Diane. I appreciate the opportunity to showcase the work of some of our local businesses. And White Lane Studio ticked the necessary boxes and it was a real pleasure to have made your acquaintance.
Any other local businesses worth a mention? As I said earlier – watch this space.
