Ban Fireworks For General Sale To The Public Debate
Below you will find details of an annual hot potato topic. It is about a petition signed and supported by our very own Chester resident and regular Chester Lifestyle visitor, John from Blacon. The petition was set up to support the “ban fireworks for general sale to the public” campaign. A topic that is to be debated by Parliament on 2nd November. That is this Monday coming by the way.
John has sent me the following below. If you are in support of this topic, then click the link provided and get voting.
Have a read and decide for yourselves.

As I mentioned above in the opening paragraph, it is an annual hot potato. Will the voting or the debating be influenced by the current climate we find ourselves in? Quite possibly. We’ll soon find out.
Thanks to John for sending this through.

Going off on a tangent, I am reminded of “Bonny Nights” we had as kids. Organised bonfire built at the end of our road. Parents supervising the main “Bonny Night” event. Only the parents would set fireworks off. And if we were lucky, we may have been given our very own sparkler!!! Who could resist writing something with a sparkler?
It’s strange how certain things stick in your mind isn’t it. One of the main memories I have of “Bonny Nights” was that one year I enjoyed my very first baked potato. I remember it was particularly delicious. One of the parents placed a load of big, baking potatoes wrapped in silver foil in the pit of the Bonny fire. Towards the end of the night, the potatoes were ready. And, as I said above, they were delicious. Happy days.
Stay safe folks.
