Annual Report 2020
Cheshire Fire Authority has published its 2020 Annual Report. The Annual Report sets out how the Service has performed over the last 12 months, looks at some notable achievements and it also takes a look at what the future might hold for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Congleton man urges others to learn from dishwasher fire at his home. “Never leave domestic appliances on when you go out.”
That is the message from a 34-year-old man following a fire at his Congleton home. Graham Cooper put his dishwasher on before leaving for work at around 7am on Thursday 24 September. Around half-an-hour later a neighbour called him to say that smoke was coming out of his bedroom window.
The neighbour also called firefighters, who broke into Graham’s coach house style apartment in Bath Vale, rescued his beloved dog and extinguished a fire involving the dishwasher.

Chester Fire Station completion date on track for January 2021.
Chester Fire Station completion date is back on track despite the original delays incurred due to COVID-19. The measures that were put in place by the contractor teams, along with strategic alterations to the project, has allowed the construction teams at ISG to make significant progress despite the pandemic.
The new station will have modern training facilities such as a new training tower, breathing apparatus building and road traffic collision training area.
There will also be a better working environment for all staff and more space and improved facilities for community engagement. It will be more cost-effective to run and maintain, environmentally friendly and have improved accessibility. new community station will give firefighters in the city a more comfortable working environment that is better suited to the practical needs of a modern fire service.
