Coping With Isolation
Here we are, the start of week 6 of lockdown. Some in lockdown are on their own, while others are sharing their home with family and/or friends. There are some who are coping with isolation and lockdown generally without any bother. However there are those who are not. So, how are you coping with isolation?
Coping With Isolation
If you are OK with lockdown and are coping with isolation then you probably won’t read any further. But there again you may feel that it’s worth reading on in case things turn for the worse.
Coping With Isolation – Help Where Needed
This article then is aimed at those who are not necessarily coping with isolation too well.
Just to clarify, I’m no medical man, so I don’t offer any solutions of my own. Other than to hopefully point you in the right direction for any assistance you may need.
With regard to isolation – as opposed to lockdown – there is guidance provided by the local, Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC). Their suggestions are as follows:
1/ Contact family first. More specifically, if you have any family or friends that are not isolating then speak with them. Give them a call if you are in need of any shopping, or just need a chat.
2/ Neighbours next. There are plenty of neighbourhood residents offering help and assistance. You can engage with them fairly easily. One neighbourhood group, or forum, you could visit (if you don’t already know of it) is the local Next Door Neighbourhood Group.
There are a variety of posts on there offering help and assistance. For instance, there is an incredible service offered by a member from Boughton who produces and delivers Sunday lunches and a Curry on a Wednesday night.
There is also a very useful NHS article on how to manage your health at home. Unfortunately I can’t show you the links as they are within the members area.
However, rather than me replicate all the support information and posts on here, it’s best if I point you to the forum’s home page link. You can see more information on the forum here and from this link you can see how to join.
The link you need is HERE.
If anyone from the forum is reading this, and a potentially new member needs to know any more information, then maybe they can put a comment in the comments section below giving details. Thanks.
3/ Online. If you are still in need of help, then you can find support online from CWAC. The link to their online support can be found HERE.
4/ By Phone. First of all, you may wish to phone the helpline set up by CWAC. Their number is here – 0300-123-7031. They may well be able to provide you with other contact telephone numbers if so required.
Coping With Isolation – Things To Do
You may find that you are really bored and short of ideas of things to do. If that is the case, there’s a post on here that may help. Have a look at “Things To Do During Lockdown” – you may find a few ideas of interest. In that post you will also find a link to a Joe Wicks – The Body Coach – workout exercises.
All in all, there are ways in which you can access support if you need it. Make a note of the above and don’t feel that you are alone. There are so many willing to help. And there are so many outlets to consider.
Hope this helps. Stay safe everyone. And stay at home.
