A quick post today folks. It’s a ‘good news, bad news’ type of post in a way. The Chester Zoo latest virtual tour takes place tomorrow. To be exact, Friday 24th April. So why is it a case of ‘good news, bad news?’

Chester Zoo Latest Virtual Tour
Well, it is good news in that we get to see the excellent presentations again by Chester Zoo’s dedicated zookeepers. But, bad news as it confirms that we are still in the grip of the coronavirus crisis. And, of course, that means we can’t visit our very popular, world famous attraction.
Just imagine a trip down to Chester Zoo in this fantastic weather? It would be mega wouldn’t it. Sun shining, not a cloud in the sky. Perfect Chester Zoo weather.
Ah well, it’s not to be. So, credit to the Zoo as they have arranged another virtual tour. Without a doubt these virtual tour days are well worth a visit. They give us a great insight on several fronts. We get to see the zookeepers in action. From that we can see how passionate and dedicated they are.
The presentation they deliver provides us with great insight into the animals themselves. Information about their character and their eating habits for instance. The way in which they personalise the presentation makes us feel that we actually know the Chester Zoo residents.
The presentations are of course very educational for our youngsters as well as we adults. And finally, we get to see some of the many animals we have come to get to know and love over the years, albeit from a distance.
A really great job by all those involved at Chester Zoo.
Chester Zoo Latest Virtual Tour-24th April
Right, so what can we expect tomorrow? There will be presentations on some residents we have not seen before on previous virtual tour days.
As with previous tours you can join in on Chester Zoo’s Facebook page and YouTube page from 10am. As with previous tours, get the nibbles ready as you will have a whole day of animal showcasing themselves and some brilliant facts and information from our top zookeepers.

10:00 – 10:20 Asian short-clawed otters
11:00 – 11:20 Fantastic fossa – Madagascar’s super predator
12:00 – 12:20 Songbirds from South East Asia
13:00 – 13:20 Really cool reptiles
14:00 – 14:20 Elephant herd pool party
15:00 – 15:20 Amazing aardvarks
Isn’t it great to see the elephants involved. A pool party hey. I’ll bet the zookeepers are looking forward to it as much as the elephants.
Take note parents. It is well worth any parents reading this to take note. Tomorrow’s tour will also be encouraging parents to make the most of this latest virtual trip and have a look at some excellent learning resources.
