Coronavirus
Hello folks, just a quick message about the virus sweeping the world at the moment. We are all now so aware of Covid-19, also known as Coronavirus and we are all now so aware of the devastating effects of the pandemic.
Coronavirus-Some Useful Links
I’m no medical person so I’m in no position to provide any medical advice. It seems however that even for the medical experts advice seems to be changing by the hour. If not even more frequently.
It can be a minefield so I just thought I would post as many links as I could all in the one place that may well be so very vital for one and all. Of course any updates etc can be from both a national/international position, or also be more on a local level.
So, in the following links I hope I provide enough information to keep you all informed accordingly.
Stay safe folks.
Coronavirus Latest Updates
As good a place as any to visit for the latest national and international is the good old Beeb. Here’s the link to their latest news bulletins here…….

One thing I do hope for from a national level is that at times like this the powers that be avoid any political point scoring. Now’s the time to rally together – not create divides.
Coronavirus – Business Updates
Without a doubt businesses are already suffering. With worse to follow by the looks of it.
To see the impact on businesses and what measures are in place to help businesses, have a look at the local Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub link below……

In this link you can see some general advice and also more specific advice – even breaking down some of the latest news by industry sector. This link is also updated on a daily basis.
Coronavirus – Local Support
It should go without saying that we should all be looking to help one another at this worrying time in our lives.
If you can, keep an eye on neighbours that you know who are either elderly or live on their own. A quick knock on the door or a telephone call would be the very least you can do. As an extra measure if you can pop along to the shops for them if they need any provisions.
Sensible Shopping
On the subject of shopping let’s all give this some serious thought. I happened to be in Aldi in Vicars Cross on Saturday and there were quite a few shelves emptied out. In particular all the toilet paper was gone.
Very wisely Aldi had provided plenty of signs to advise shoppers that they would be restricted to buying a maximum of four of anything. This is fair to everyone it would seem. Anyone who has stockpiled should really have given some thought to those that cannot just load up their cars or vans as simply as they can.
Inability to get to the shops to buy provisions does not only apply to the elderly of course. There are plenty of people who are without their own transport.
A taxi driver friend of mine was telling me only on Sunday that it was so quiet he might have to consider packing in taxi driving soon as he may very soon be running at a loss. Somehow those without transport will have to find a way to get to the shops even if there is a shortage of taxis soon enough.
So, as well as being sensible with your shopping habits, give a thought also to those without transport or may have their own mobility issues.
In short, try and think outside the box and consider what our very own actions may have on the community generally either in a positive or a negative way.

For My Part-Mothers Day Video
If this helps in any way, and thinking of ‘normal’ events coming up wherever we can, we have a big event coming up this Sunday. It is Mothers Day here in the UK. It may well be that you are struggling to get out to buy your mother a pressie to help her celebrate the occasion.
If that is the case, then you may consider sending your Mum a video greeting instead? If so, below you will see a video I have produced. Underneath the video you will the YouTube link. You can use that link and include it in an email, text or WhatsApp message to your Mum. Happy Mothers Day.
A small gesture but one that may save you time and inconvenience this coming Sunday.
Here’s the video with the link……
And the link – https://youtu.be/UnpRDIqJ138
Hopefully the video will be seen and used in the right way. A way to wish your Mother a Happy Mothers Day as a possible alternative to having to pop out to buy a present if you so wish.
