Chester Businesses

We are so fortunate here in Chester and surrounding areas that we have a wealth of quality local businesses on our doorstep. Talented, determined and supportive business men and women at our disposal. There is such a wide range of Chester businesses worthy of a mention. On so many fronts. Carry on reading and you will see what I mean.

Mind you, it is also worth noting that where appropriate, a business that doesn’t fit the high standards of the criteria above, may also get a mention. For instance, there has been a fair few local food places in the news recently that have seen their hygiene ratings get a bit of a hammering.

Some of them recorded hygiene scores of 0/5, or 1/5. I haven’t mentioned these by name as this is old news in a way, but the point I am making is, if they were to be mentioned, they would be mentioned as a matter of fact. The ratings awarded would not be my assessment, so in no way would I be passing judgement.

But I feel in such circumstances, such situations warrants a mention. I hope that makes sense.

In the main however, it is anticipated that the more positive posts, or background stories of interest will hog the space created in this particular section.

Chester Businesses – Plenty Of Quality To Be Found

Many of the posts in this section will be from my own dealings or interactions with these businesses. That doesn’t mean not getting a mention carries any particular significance. And, as I say, as many of the posts will be as a result of my own experiences (especially in the early stages of this section) then I think it’s fair to say I will not be expected to know each and every of the Chester businesses in each and every niche.

So, on that note, there will also of course be some reliance on other people’s prompts. If you have a story to tell, or a recommendation to make on any Chester businesses you have encountered, then drop me a line.

Chester Businesses – Be Prepared For The Unexpected

As well as highlighting and showcasing the main features of a business, also be prepared for the unexpected. What I mean by that, there may well be posts that show a different side of a business. Or the business owner(s).

Again, for instance, if a business owner is going to do something quite scary or daring for charity – like climb Mount Everest – then again, that is well worth a mention.

As there is so much scope, this section will be quite expansive and flexible. This would obviously be the case as businesses will come and go.

In short, I hope the section will provide the platform for a sort of a bulletin board for Chester businesses, or an area whereby people can see behind the scenes so to speak of the business and/or the owners to some degree.

Also, I hope that I can throw in a bit of humour where I can. Again, another for instance example. A few weeks ago saw the annual Chester Raft Race.

Having attended the event as a bystander and speaking with some of the participants there was a fair bit of material for some good, witty stories. Not to mention producing the odd video as well.

Chester Businesses – Get Involved

It would be interesting to see if anyone out there comes forward with any mentions of their own. Or, what about the owners of Chester businesses themselves?

Have you an interesting story to tell? Any of you go to school with anyone famous? Have you had anyone famous come into your store, or your place of work?

Any major, none business related achievements? Off the top of my head and one example only, I can think of a lady who has achieved so much for charity. I’ll be contacting her for some information. What she has achieved is well worth a mention. Hopefully she will agree to a post on here.

Moving Forward

I hope you get the gist of what I would like this section to be. Let’s share some information, some interesting stories and some humour. Also, let’s look to us all supporting each other as much as we can.

For all you sole traders or SME’s out there, I’m sure there are many that can relate to all the trials and tribulations of running a business as an SME or sole trader. We don’t have the luxury of having a HR department that we can go to and seek out some much needed TLC or have a good rant and rave at.

We also know only too well that we have to be masters of so many skills and attributes. No throwing a quick “sickie” for us is there!!

On that note, why not turn the section into an information platform as well? Why not swap emails and get in touch if there is a solution you need, or for that matter, any assistance you can provide.
