Chester Market Is Alive And Kicking

Isn’t it great how Chester Market has become a thriving centre for foodies. It’s fair to say that Chester Market is alive and kicking again.

A couple of weeks ago the Market stayed open late on the Friday (until 8pm) to say a ‘hello’ and to welcome two new eating establishments. The idea was to provide a greater opportunity for customers to sample the wares on offer. Of course this was a ‘first time’ for such an occasion. And of course the whole idea could have bombed. But…..great news!! It didn’t. It was a great success. And even better news, the late night opening is not a ‘one-off’. You can pop along again this Friday (26th October).

New Chester Market Food Stall Holders

The new Chester Market stall holders creating a stir are Caribbean food stall, “Jeffro’s Wingz and Tingz” and “That Beer Place” – a new independent bar and bottle shop. This brand new bar offers a wide selection of real ale, craft beers, wine, cider and a variety of gins. Drinks can be bought as takeaways or can be consumed on the premises. Cool or what!!

Jeffro’s Wingz and Tingz (snazzy name isn’t it!!) offer tastes of the Caribbean. This includes chicken wings, curried mutton served with a pineapple punch and Guinness punch.

More Stalls Of Interest

These aren’t the only two stalls of interest though. There are other stalls that offer a real international flavour. You can find American street food, artisan bakers, British, Thai and Italian food delights. Let’s not forget the authentic Italian Pizzeria.

Furthermore, let’s not forget the older established, regular stall holders either. And of course the Council deserve a lot of credit for the upturn in the Market’s fortunes. Indeed Chester Market is alive and kicking.

Apparently three more stalls are expected in the next month or so. And, very encouragingly, there is now a waiting list of small, local businesses wanting a stall. Great news indeed.
