Sun shining? Check!! Some spare time available today? Check!! Moggies fed and watered? Again, Check!! Fancy a few cheeky ones? Check!! Check!! and treble Check!! All important checks satisfied. This can only mean one thing and one place to be today. The Chester Live Street Festival in Brook Street.

Chester Live Street Festival

By all accounts the Chester Live Street Festival team are very excited indeed to be returning to Brook Street, Chester. As part of the main Chester Live Festival, today’s offerings in Brook Street brings another day of FREE live music to the area.

I would imagine if today’s weather stays as nice as predicted, the numbers attending will again be in the thousands. A year ago, almost 6000 people attended the event across the day. The organisers I am sure are looking forward to seeing as many visitors again today.

The ‘Chester Live Street Festival’ will take place on Chester’s most ethnically diverse street, Brook Street, today Sunday 24th June. Live music will be the order of the day from midday through to 9pm.

Not Only Music

In addition to the free live music, the occasion will also include stalls from local independent traders. Not only that, there will be family entertainment along the full length of Brook Street.

Having attended these events in previous years, I think it’s fair to say they have been brilliant occasions. Not only so well attended, but plenty of variety to keep all visitors entertained for hours.

A Big Thank You

Very importantly, a huge shout out to the organisers and the security staff who give their all to make this a memorable event. A big credit to all those involved.

Also, a big thank you to all the Brook Street retailers who contribute to the day. I am sure they all have. Why wouldn’t they? With such a huge turn out expected, they will all benefit in a big way so I am sure they have contributed in any way they can to help the event go off smoothly.

I hope to take a few photos and a video or two so I can write a follow up early next week. Also, it would be great if I could manage to get some feedback from the organisers. Watch this space.

On To The Music

Live acts include:

The main stage will be headlined by local sunshine pop superstars Campfire Social.

Support on the day on the main stage comes from Indio’s Dream, Science Of The Lamps, Tabitha Jade, Brazenswagger, Cynic Notes, Nish Goyal, The Instinctive and Smiling Riley.

The smaller acoustic stage which will be headlined by Chester’s own one man street quartet; CF Boneslum. Support on the ‘Bandstand’ stage comes from Hedge Gods, Alx Green, Isaac Birchall, Peter Douglas, Chris Tavener, Oli Ng, Shem Sharples, Will Riding, Tom Matthias and Dan Pearce.

That looks like one incredible line up for this year’s event!

The music doesn’t stop there though does it. Don’t forget, Sunday night is karaoke night in the Egerton. Fancy a warble? Then pop along. All the pubs and John (who is also Chairman Of The Friends Of Brook Street) from the St Werburgh’s Catholic Club always make sure all visitors are welcomed with open arms.
